How Metal
Works.
Material Prep & Layout
Galvanized, aluminum, or stainless coil stock is uncoiled and squared. CAD drawings are nested onto the sheet to maximize yield — minimizing waste before the first cut is made.
Cutting
CNC plasma and shear lines cut blanks to the nested pattern. Edges are deburred to keep gauge consistent and prevent injury during downstream handling.
Notching & Punching
Tabs, slots, and pilot holes get punched at this stage — the geometry that lets pieces lock, mount, or vent later. Notching removes corners so the metal can bend cleanly without tearing.
Forming & Bending
Press brakes bend the blank into its three-dimensional form. Tooling and back-gauge stops are programmed per piece so every bend hits the spec angle within tight tolerance — typically ±1°.
Seaming & Joining
Pittsburgh, drive cleat, snap-lock, or welded seams lock the bent panels into a finished body. Spot welds, rivets, and sealants handle the joints standard seams can't.
Inspection & Finishing
Each piece is dimensionally checked, sharp edges hemmed or coined, and any required insulation or coating applied. The part is tagged, palletized, and staged for pickup or dispatch.
