COMPANY POLICY
ACCESSIBILITY PLAN AND POLICY
STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT
At Metalworks, we believe in creating a respectful environment where everyone is treated with dignity and equality. This allows all employees to work independently and in an integrated setting and provides an accessible space for our valued customers. We are committed to providing an inclusive climate that supports all individuals.
We are committed to ensuring that our customers and employees with disabilities receive the support they need in a timely manner. We will achieve this by identifying and removing any barriers that prevent accessibility in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
ACCESSIBLE INFORMATION SYSTEM
Metalworks will provide emergency information in an accessible format upon request. Employees with disabilities will receive an emergency plan tailored to their needs when required.
TRAINING
Metalworks will provide training to its employees and volunteers with regards to Ontario's Human Rights Code and Accessibility Laws, specifically as it pertains to individuals with disabilities. The training will be tailored to suit the duties of the employees and will be provided in a manner that is most effective for them. In case of any changes in policies and/or programs related to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), or if employees switch roles and require additional information on accessibility requirements beyond their initial training, additional training will be provided by Metalworks. All training records will be kept by the company.
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
Metalworks is fully dedicated to fulfilling the communication needs of all individuals with disabilities. We value the input of our employees with disabilities and will consult with them to determine their specific information and communication requirements.
We offer feedback processes upon request to individuals with disabilities and all our employees are well-informed about the ways in which we support those with disabilities, whether it be through accommodations or other means.
We take the necessary steps to ensure that all publicly available information is accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities. This can be achieved through printed and audio resources made available by request.
RECRUITMENT AND EMPLOYMENT
Metalworks is dedicated to ensuring fair and accessible employment practices for all. We will take the necessary steps to notify both the public and our employees that we are committed to accommodating people with disabilities during the recruitment and hiring process.
We will remain vigilant in identifying and removing accessibility barriers as they arise, to ensure that our commitment to accessibility remains steadfast.
MULTI-YEAR ACCESSIBILITY PLAN 2023 TO 2028
Metalworks is dedicated to ensuring accessibility for all. We are committed to regularly reviewing and updating our multi-year accessibility plan to ensure it meets the needs of our employees, customers, and the public. If requested, we will provide accessible formats of our plan to ensure everyone can access the information they need.
Our employees will receive training on any updates to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) as they occur, and we will ensure that accommodations are available for candidates applying to our job postings. Our goal is to maintain an accessible workplace and retail storefronts to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access our services safely and efficiently.
We value feedback from the public on how we can improve our services for people with disabilities. If you have suggestions or comments, please email us at info@metalworks.com.
